Hog Slat highlights fall arrest system to protect farm workers

Climbing feed bins is necessary when operating a livestock farm, but there is always a risk of falling. Hog Slat’s Fall Arrest System aims to reduce the risk of injuries caused by falls while working at height by limiting the distance of a fall. Installation is straightforward and using the system is simple. 

Nettex launches StimuLife and RevitaLyte for piglets

Nettex has launched StimuLife and RevitaLyte to help farmers support piglet health and survival rates. StimuLife aims to support a piglet’s natural defences and includes colostral proteins and vitamin E, while RevitaLyte contains a blend of organic acids and betaine to help preserve the gut lining and improve digestion. 

ASI Heat Exchanger from ITB specially developed for combination with air scrubbers

ITB Climate has developed the ASI Heat Exchanger specifically for use in combination with new and existing air scrubbers. With this system, air is not mixed but incoming fresh ventilation air remains clean and fresh. By recovering heat from the stable and using it in their stable, livestock farmers reduce their energy consumption and create a better stable climate. 

Minitube launches precise and fast control of semen quality

Minitube offers the possibility to objectively assess the quality of the semen dose by making the latest technology available at the farm level: AndroScope, a compact and mobile Computer Assisted Semen Analysis (CASA) system which analyses and documents both motility and concentration in less than 2 minutes. 

First pigs have arrived at Delta Norway

Topigs Norsvin announces the first 237 young boars arrived at the new Delta Norway test station. They came from 32 herds in Norway and were first quarantined for 3 weeks. Testing and feed intake recording began on arrival. After 10 weeks at the test station, the first boars will be CT scanned and available for export to customers worldwide. Delta Norway has an annual test capacity of 5,000 young boars from the Norsvin Landrace and TN Duroc lines.

Evonik completes MetAmino production in Singapore

The expansion of Evonik’s MetAmino (DL-methionine) production facilities in Singapore has been completed. The production on Jurong Island is again running at full capacity, after shutdowns in Q4/2023 and Q2/2024. The production capacity has been increased by 40,000 metric tonnes, bringing the total to 340,000 metric tonnes per year.

The Sunswine Group is rebranding to Animistic, which it says reflects the business’ dedication to providing accessible animal nutrition driven by core ethics of Science + Heart. The company notes: “Our new name embodies our holistic approach to monogastric animal care, emphasising the synergy between scientific advancement and heartfelt dedication.”

Anitox joins Iluma Alliance

Feed safety specialist Anitox is now part of Iluma Alliance, the global business ecosystem dedicated to creating value for the feed and food industry. Anitox will continue to operate independently.
