Authorities in the central Vietnamese province of Quang Nam has called itself free of PRRS and resumed trade and pork transports.
Nguyen Duc Hai, head of the province administration, said that since a 21-day period no new outbreaks have been registered, which is the criterion for declaring the area disease-free.
Animal health experts warn that the virus that causes PRRS can exist in infected animals for up to two months.
