Vietnam, one of Asia’s most promising pig producing countries, is about to become a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
This decision was made by the WTO’s General Council on Tuesday. The country will become the WTO’s 150th member.
Vietnam now has to ratify the agreement, and it will become a member 30 days after the country has told the organisation that the deal has been ratified.
The American Meat Institute has been supporting the development, claiming that the agreement will provide increased market access for US beef, pork and poultry.
