Victam Asia: over 150 companies present

The tenth edition of the animal feed show Victam Asia, to be held 3-5 March, 2010, in Bangkok, Thailand, will host at least 150 international feedstuff manufacturing companies and proprietors from all over the world.

Victam Asia 2010 will be parallelled by two additional international feed shows, FIAAP Asia and Grapas Asia, all held at the same location, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok.

Estimations
The estimations were made public during a press conference leading up to the event in Bangkok, earlier this week. Over 20,000 visitors are expected to show up at the convention centre, on an area of over 5,000 m2.

Innovations shown will be related to the fed industry and international plant-processing industry, the latter of which ranges from raw material and ingredient procurement, manufacturing, technology, machinery, processing, storage and full-cycle logistics.

Enhance productivity
Henk van de Bunt (photo), general manager for Victam International, said, “Objectives for this event are to enhance the level of productivity and potential in trading pertaining to feed industry so that Thailand could become the seat of operation for the aforementioned industrial discipline within the Asian region.©

“The company trusts that this event to be held next year will foster economic growth in the Thai feed industry at large, as well as serving the global stage for business negiotiations for all participants, both Thai and foreign, all the more allowing for the exchange of ideas, knowledge and technologies pertaining to the industry among them.”

Shows

FIAAP Asia (Feed Ingredients & Additives Asia Pacific) is a specialist event for ingredients and additives used in the formulation and manufacturing of animal feed.

2008 show
In 2008, Victam Asia and FIAAP Asia attracted 15,000 visitors, of which over 6,000 trade executives, came from all over the world. Visitors and conference delegates came from 69 different countries. The number of non-Thai visitors amounted 40%.

Over 150 companies were present, hailing from e.g. the USA, UK, the Netherlands, Germany, China, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.

In the same year, Thailand imported approximately US$1.4 billion in food ingredients, a 25% increase in comparison to 2007.
