USA: Carnichrome now part of DSM portfolio
For the first time, the product Carnichrome has been marketed in the USA as a product in the Rovimix line of DSM Nutritional Products, at World Pork Expo.
The product, developed by Lonza in the Swiss city of Basel, has been on the US market for some time, but it is hoped that a greater audience can be reached by being part of a larger company, as from April 2009.
For now, the product will only be marketed by DSM in the USA and Mexico.
Sow diets
The product, containing L-carnitine and Chromium Picolinate is mostly aimed for use in sows. The first ingredient is essential for the metabolism of fatty acids, whereas the second assists in the metabolism of carbohydrates.
Reduced sow feed requirements and improvement of sow performance are the ultimate goals.
