There is still time to nominate somebody to receive the pig industry’s highest honour, the David Black Award.
It has been presented annually since 1960 to somebody who has made a sustained and valuable contribution to the British pig industry.
Previous winners have included processors, vets, producers, academics, scientists, journalists and nutritionists.
The winner is chosen by an independent panel chaired by BPEX Director Mick Sloyan who said: “The pig industry is fortunate to have so many gifted and dedicated people.
“Many of those are deserving of the award and I would urge everybody in the industry to think about who they could nominate.”
The closing date for nominations is Friday, 29 August and the nomination form is available on the BPEX website, www.bpex.org.uk
