Topigs Philippines and QJJ Group build genetics base

Topigs Philippines chartered 1164 GGP and GP pig breeders for QJJ Farm located in the main pig producing province of Luzon, Philippines.

The animals are currently under strict quarantine and adaptation procedures in the newly constructed modern facility of QJJ Farm. The pig farm equipped with the latest climate control and ventilation systems is capable of housing the 2,000 sow level operation.

The imported nucleus herd will be linked to Topigs’ Pigbase, the world’s largest database for breeding pigs. Topigs’ Pigbase presently accomodates data from over 23 million pigs worldwide.

“This joint undertaking is the manifestation of Topigs commitment to provide genetics that will meet farmers’ need. It also affirms our partnership with the QJJ Group as our Exclusive Franchise Partner in Luzon for boars and gilts production. Together, we will assure sustainable genetics contribution to support the local pig industry,” explains Dr. Bryan M. Retales, general manager of Topigs Philippines.

QJJ Group is headed by its CEO, Mr. Guo Jian Zhong. The farm operation of the group and their future expansion plans for both commercial and breeding swine expansion in the coming years will be headed by its general manager, Ms. Alice Guo.
