02-11-2011 | |

Yesterday it was reported on Pig Progress that a cow was suspected of having Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in Pohang city. However tests carried out came back with a negative result.

The agriculture ministry stated that the case initially reported on 31 Oct was not  FMD despite the suspicious symptoms shown a farm in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea.

In the previous year 9.7 million cattle, pigs and poultry were culled due to disease outbreaks such as Foot-and-Mouth Disease and bird flu.
