According Seoul’s Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries this week, local farms in South Korea were discovered to have Foot-and-Mouth disease present.
The farms tested positive for the disease. The outbreak was initially suspected at two farms Andong, North Gyeongsang Province.
Its first outbreak of the disease since 2002 was reported in January of this year; however, the World Organization for Animal Health (OEI) stated that the country was free of the disease in September. The suspected animals have been placed in quarantine, reports state.
