The Wisconsin Pork Association and the National Pork Board will be hosting a second Operation Main Street Training from 16 – 17 January at the Marriott Madison West in Middleton.
The Operation Main Street Training aims to improve the image of the pork industry, through producers and industry supporters communicating with their communities and neighbours about modern pork production.
Tammy Vaassen, WPA operations director says, “The pork industry is undergoing sweeping transformation triggered by global competition, modernisation, evolving new production models and challenges from activist groups.”
Vaassen continues saying that one thing remains unchanged: “like our fathers and grandfathers, today’s pork producers are environmentally sensitive, respect livestock, benefit America’s rural economy, love country life, and are, last but not least, good neighbours.”
