SafePork conference nearing

Starting June 19th through to June 23rd the SafePork Conference will take place in Maastricht, The Netherlands.

This will be the ninth edition of this international conference. About 200 participants from all over the world are expected to come to SafePork 2011.
 
Current issues which are important in the production of safe pork will be presented by leading scientists who will present the latest developments. Among them will be Professor Dik Mevius of the Central Veterinary Institute who will address the issue of antimicrobial resistance and Professor Kühne of the Food Safety and Consumer Protection Agency of Lower Saxony who will present the recent dioxin crisis in Germany. In total, there will be well over a hundred scientific oral and poster presentations.
 
On top of that there will be pre-conference workshops and post-conference tours. A large number of companies that support the SafePork conference will present a wide range of information during the conference. SafePork 2011 is organized by representatives of VION-food group, the Central Veterinary Institute, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Animal Health Service.
