Russia: Lower amount of pork imports for 2012

Pork and poultry imports for 2012 will drop, the amount has been lowered by Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan Customs Union.

The amount of pork and poultry will only be lower for Russia, but for Kazakhstan it is a different situation – whereby pork and beef imports have increased and for Belarus it remains the same.
 
In Russia’s situation, pork access reduced will be reduced from 472,100 metric tonnes to 400,000 MT. There will be more pork trimming access – 30,000 MT compared to 27,900 MT in 2011.
In addition, less poultry access will occur with the amount reduced from 350,000 MT to 330,000 MT.
