Record in pork exports from USA

10-10-2006 | |

Pork exports from the USA have grown by 10% in the first six months of this year, compared to 2005 figures.

Exports rose for the 14th consecutive time, adding up to a total of almost 700,000 tonnes. Total export value only grew 4%.

The large growth was made possible by a 20% increase of pork to Mexico, after Japan the major importer of US pork.

US pork exports to Russia, Hong Kong and South Korea grew too.
