Priciest ham leg in the world up for sale

Selfridges in London, UK has stated that the priciest ham leg in the world can be purchased at its store in Oxford street.

The Iberico ham leg©has a price tag of©£1,800.

It started with Manuel Maldonado, a pig farmer and ham expert who selected 50 pigs that were reared in Extremadura, Spain – the pigs were permitted to roam fields and ate acorns and roots in order for the ham to have a specific flavour.

After being slaughtered the ham was salted and cured for three years.

The leg weighs seven kilogams and comes with a DNA certificate for authenticity.
