US wholesale pork prices have declined to the lowest level since April 25th due to large amounts of slaughterings.
Pig prices declined 3.2% and pig futures declined to their lowest level since July.
Pork processors slaughtered approximately 2.17 million pigs over the last week, the most since December last year. More records are expected in the peak slaughter period in the week after Thanksgiving, November 23rd.
That week usually sees the most slaughterings of the year. The result is a drop in both pig and pork prices.
