Kemin has welcomed Matt Elkins and Dr. Laura Wonderling to its vet innovations division.
Elkins joins Kemin as a sales manager responsible for livestock and poultry throughout the United States. He is responsible for growing KemSan brand Liquid Antimicrobial sales through Kemin’s distributors as well as current and new customers.
Elkins graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in agricultural education. He then completed a Master of Arts in organizational leadership at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky. Prior to joining Kemin, Elkins served in the animal products division at Neogen Corporation in Lexington, Kentucky for five years.
Dr. Wonderling will serve as the research and development director of Kemin’s vet innovations division. As the director of research and development, Dr. Wonderling will lead a team of scientists responsible for research and product development for livestock, poultry, equine, and companion animal health products worldwide. Since joining Kemin in 2007, Dr. Wonderling has served as a principle scientist, directing the molecular biology team. Prior to joining Kemin, Dr. Wonderling worked for Syntiron, a start-up company developing animal and human vaccines in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Additionally, Dr. Wonderling worked at the USDA Eastern Regional Research Center near Philadelphia where she conducted research on the stress responses of foodborne pathogens and the genomic sequencing of Listeria monocytogenes. Dr. Wonderling holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. She completed her doctorate degree in microbiology, with an emphasis in molecular biology at the University of Iowa.
