Nutreco shows excellent 2007 results

19-02-2008 | |

In 2007, Nutreco has generated sales of €4.021 million, 33% more than in 2006. The excellent figures are the result of autonomous growth, higher sales prices of feed and recent acquisitions.

The total sales of animal feed increased by 47%, from €1.322 million in 2006 to €1.948 million in 2007. Sales in meat and other activities increased by 22.5%, from €718 million in 2006 to €880 million in 2007.

Focus on growth
Wout Dekker, Nutreco CEO: “We have been able to address the second phase of the Nutreco strategy ‘Rebalancing for Growth’ in an appropriate way.  The organic growth and the contribution of important strategic acquisitions in animal nutrition made it possible to reach a new milestone in the Nutreco history by exceeding €4 billion revenues. In addition to the acquisitions in 2007 Nutreco further optimised its balance sheet by returning €5 per share to its shareholders.”

Future targets
“We are pleased with the growth in our animal nutrition and fish feed business in 2007”, says Dekker. In 2007 an organisation has been set up to implement the Nutreco Sourcing Initiative (“NSI”) which facilitates global purchasing of raw materials and services. The objective of Nutreco is that from 2009 onwards NSI will realise €25 million savings on an annual basis. In the past 12 months significant progress has been made and we already expect NSI to contribute €10 million in 2008.
