South Dakotan pork producer, James Leafstedt has been named as US Animal Health Association president at the association’s 111th meeting in Reno, Nevada.
The association comprises of state and federal animals health officials, livestock producers, research scientists and veterinarians.
In his first speech as president of the association, he announced that one of his main goals will be to enhance service to the membership and to improve relations with state and federal agencies, through resolutions.
Leafstedt named three goals for the organization under his leadership, including involving producers and membership services of the association.
