Hermaphrodite pig born in Colombia

It doesn’t happen every day, infact it’s an extremely rare occurrence, but in Colombia, in Bayunca near Cartagena a cattle farmer discovered one of his piglets was hermaphrodite.

The pig, born with eleven brothers and sisters was discovered to have both testicles and a vagina. “These cases happen rarely,” the local vet told local newspaper El Universal. “Usually piglets like this are still-born, because they are dysfunctional. They are not able to generate offspring.”

The pig, initially given the female name of Panchita but now called both Panchita and Panchito, is eating well and is in good health.
