The 2012 edition of EuroTier, held in Hanover, Germany, will be remembered as the largest livestock show ever – the final number of exhibitors being 2,445.
The show, which started on Tuesday and will last until Friday is also expected to draw an estimated 160,000 visitors, which would also be a record for an international livestock event, as the 2010 show attracted almost 145,000 visitors.
At EuroTier 2010, 1,926 exhibitors presented themselves. The growth in exhibitor numbers is mostly due to an increased interest from abroad, as foreign exhibitors went from 778 in 2010 to 1,151 in 2012 – a 40% increase. Germany accounts for 1,294 of the exhibitors.
The country best represented after Germany is the Netherlands, with 197 booths. Countries also well represented are France (135), China (97), Italy (94) and Denmark (86).
Total gross exhibition space is 251,337 m2.
