EUROTIER: Automatic sow heat detection

Having won a gold medal at EuroTier 2010 with its SonoCheck, Big Dutchman this year introduces the SowCheck, a stress-free system for oestrus detection for inside Electronic Sow Feeding (ESF) stations.

The system analyses and detects the oestrus reflex over a number of sensations. Lateral rolls are being moved over flanks of the sow – who can also see, hear and smell a boar nearby.

Other innovations include a software extension to the ESF stations to register visit sequence, which could offer information on health status. The company also launches LevelCheck, a better way to determine trough filling levels in liquid feeding, using air pressure.

EuroTier will be held 13 through 16 September, in Hanover, Germany. Booths of Big Dutchman can be found in various halls at the show. The booth related to pigs will be located in Hall 11, D21.
