El Salvador: Classical Swine Fever outbreak

A new outbreak of classical swine fever has been reported in El Slavador. This is a reoccurrence of the disease which was treated in May of this year.

The outbreak in the San Miguel region of El Salvador has so far led to the slaughter of 57 animals. The source of the classical swine fever outbreak is as yet unknown but a protective zone is being established and quarantine and disinfectant procedures are being put into place.
