Dutch compound feed manufacturer De Heus has reached a milestone by producing more than 3.0 million tonnes of complete feed last year. All markets where De Heus has industrial presence have contributed in a positive way to this result.

Production plants of De Heus have been churning out more than 3.03 million tonnes of complete feed in 2009.

In the Netherlands production grew by almost 2.2% to 1.91 million tonnes. All relevant markets have had a positive contribution to the groups results. The growth has been realised mainly by autonomous growth.

This growth has resulted in several record months for De Heus, in terms of production output. October 2009 was a record month, which was then exceeded by December 2009.

Autonomous growth
The continuous focus on growth will help De Heus to realise its autonomous growth ambitions for 2010 and beyond.

The establishment of newly built or acquired capacity in South Africa (1), Vietnam (2), Czech Republic (1) Russia (1) and Ethiopia (1) in 2009 will be important in realising these ambitions.

There will also be continuing efforts to improve performance in current markets like Poland and the Netherlands.

Animal feed industry
De Heus Group is an international company with a leading position in the animal feed industry. The company, which was founded in 1911, has its roots in the Netherlands.

Since then it has expanded from a regional feed company to a feed conglomerate with activities in more then 40 countries on all continents. The corporate headquarters of De Heus are located in Ede, the Netherlands.
