Brazil: New record for processed pork meat

According to Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), processed pig meat reached a new record during the third quarter of 2011.

Pigs sent to slaughter say increased numbers which was 5.2% higher than the previous quarter and 9.1% more than the same quarter in 2010.
 
Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul – all states in the South take the lead in the processing pork volume, with for 66.5% of the total volume.
