Betagro Group launches new laboratory facility

Betagro Science Centre, a subsidiary of the agribusiness giant Betagro Group, has received investment privilege for a 112 million baht (€2.3 million) feed testing service in Lopburi, Thailand.

The laboratory centre at Lopburi province is a new facility operating under Betagro Science Centre with the same management.

Services
The lab will provide services to affiliates in the group and also external customers located in those areas i.e. Lopburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, Phetchabun etc., Rutjawate Taharnklaew, the science centre’s general manager explained.

The testing capabilities are in both chemical and microbiological testing of animal feed, raw materials, raw meat, cooked products and water, etc. The test items include proximate analysis (protein, fat, fibre and ash), minerals, pesticides, heavy metal, bacterial and yeast and mould counts, COD, BOD, etc. This is to support the group on the food safety scheme. 

The project has been submitted to the Thailand’s Board of Investment and has been approved on 22 July 2008.

The Betagro Science Centre at Thailand Science Park, Pathumthani is still operating with existing capabilities.
