The contest, organised by Dutch animal nutrition cooperative Cehave Landbouwbelang, was held to offer 28 poultry, dairy and livestock producers the opportunity to show progress in animal feeding.

A jury considered all submissions and was looking for innovative, sustainable and society friendly enterprises.

The first prize in the trophy was for the goat milk producing family Van der Pas-Ebbers from the Dutch town of Heeswijk-Dinther, as they focus on animal welfare, animal health, environment and cost efficiency. Goats receive individual meals through a feed machine, developed by the owner himself.

The third prize was won by the broiler producing family Van Zeeland from the Dutch town of Gemert.

An internet poll revealed the public vote, which went to broiler farm of the Vloet family from the town of Wanroij, which won 15% of the votes. On-line films were watched over 100,000 times.
