A baker from Britain has been ordered to rename her novelty pig tarts – because they don’t contain any pork.

Val Temple has also been told her popular Paradise Slice has to be reclassified as it does not come from paradise, say the Trading Standards officers.

“It’s a joke and an insult to the public,” she told The Sun. “Of course my cakes don’t contain pig or come from paradise. But what’s next – shepherd’s pie?”

“This ruling is very sad, but not entirely surprising in today’s society,” she added.

A spokesman for Dorset County Council’s Trading Standards said, “Food must be properly described so consumers can tell what it is.”
