What exactly can be adaptive about a feed solution? Quite a lot – so much became clear at the recent webinar ‘The science of an adaptive feed solution’, held by Pig Progress and Danisco Animal Nutrition, a division of DuPont Industrial Biosciences.
The webinar is now available for on-demand viewing at no extra cost.
Speaker at the webinar is Dr Maria Walsh, swine platform lead for the Global Innovation Group of Danisco Animal Nutrition. She explained about the latest addition to the family of solutions offered by DuPont – which is a feed additive strategy combining probiotic and an enzyme, known as Syncra SWI.
Dr Walsh opened her presentation reminding her audience of well-known combinations which just sound better in pairs, like fish and chips or soup and noodles. The novel DuPont approach would have to be the next one.
In more detail, the approach combines a protease enzyme with a multi-strain Bacillus species probiotic for grower-finisher pigs. Joined together into one approach, it consistently delivers digestibility largely due to the probiotic’s agile enzyme producing capacity that adapts to different feed ingredients.

The webinar was recorded and broadcasted July 6 from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The presentation lasts for roughly 35 minutes, after which Dr Walsh received many questions from the audience attending live from all over the globe.
