What happens if young piglets, chicks and calves would not get the proper care? That question will be key during an upcoming webinar on December 9, at 3pm CET, organised by All About Feed in cooperation with the Royal Agrifirm Group.

The webinar will highlight an entirely new feeding concept for young animals called Earlyfeed, developed by the Royal Agrifirm Group. To emphasise the importance of the right care, the webinar will delve into the question what might happen if animals do not to receive the right care. The question is probably more relevant than ever, as the use of tools like antibiotics and zinc oxide are actively discouraged right now.

The nutritionist and the economist

From the studio in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, various experts will talk about that question from their field of expertise. Loek de Lange, private consultant poultry nutrition at Loek’s Feed, shall approach the issue from a nutritionist’s point of view. He has years of experience with broiler nutrition, but will also touch upon other species in his presentation. What do young animals really need?

Viewing the issue from an economic perspective is Robert Hoste, senior pig production economist at Wageningen Economic Research, part of Wageningen University and Research. He will zoom in on aspects of young animal care that make or break a farm’s success, discuss its value, and also include an international comparison of zootechnical performance.

The importance of young animal care

The presentation of both speakers will be followed by a Q&A session and a panel discussion. The webinar shall be closed off by Gudo klein Gebbink, managing director EMEA at Royal Agrifirm Group. He will share the company’s view on young animal care, in the light of the launch of the new brand.

The webinar will take place on Wednesday 9 December, at 3pm Central European Time. That time corresponds to:
