Podcast: Key takeaways from Midwest ASAS meeting

The 17th episode of the Real P3 podcast was cut into 3 parts – each including talks with swine nutrition experts to hear their thoughts on the research presented at the annual Midwest American Society of Animal Science (ASAS) meeting in Omaha, USA. This edition reviews some interesting takeaways from the event to help producers both in the US and globally.

The Real P3 podcast series is an initiative where pork professionals from around the world are interviewed about challenges and solutions in their day-to-day work. In this episode, which is a continuation from the previous 2 podcasts with Dr Caroline Gonzalez-Vega at Evonik and Dr Jim Smith with Kent Nutrition Group, Dr Casey Bradley speaks to Ana Lucia Pozzobon de Souza with IFF (formerly Du Pont) in North Carolina.

Pozzobon de Souza talks about some of the key takeaways from the Midwest ASAS event, including the effects of leucine-rich diets and its effect on other amino acids, as well as some of the information that came from the Outstanding Young Research Award Symposium, including calcium and phosphorous in sow nutrition.

In the previous weeks, Pig Progress published earlier episodes of the Real P3 podcast series:
