PEOPLE: Pfizer Animal Health appoints Shelley Standford

Pfizer Animal Health’s US pork technical services director as of July 1st is Shelley Standford.

In her new role, she will continue to drive the growth of all brands across the US Pork Business Unit and focus on providing customers with technical solutions and veterinary advice to support their businesses.
 
“Shelley has played an integral role as a leader within Pfizer Animal Health for more than ten years,” said Gloria Basse, group director, US Pork Operations at Pfizer Animal Health. “Under her leadership, we successfully launched innovative products for the health and care of pigs and have experienced significant growth. We look forward to her continued commitment to the pork industry and Pfizer Animal Health as she steps into her new role.”

History
Stanford joined the Pfizer Animal Health team in the Veterinarian Technical Services area where she worked with farmers, veterinarians and the sales team to keep animals healthy and productive. In her previous marketing roles, she led successful marketing efforts for swine biologicals and Lincomix Feed Medication, and launches for Fostera PCV and Fostera PRRS. In 2012 she was recognised as one of Pfizer Animal Health’s Emerging Leaders, achieved President’s Circle recognition in 2011 and was awarded the Team Pork Innovation Award in 2010 and 2011. Standford’s new role as director of US Pork Technical Services took effect July 1, 2012.
 
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Medicine and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois. She has a Master’s of Science in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University and a Master’s of Business Administration from Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
