Korea to ban antibiotics in feed

01-09-2008 | | |

The Korea Food and Drug Administration will from next year ban the use of seven types of antibiotics in feed for livestock and fish raised in fish farms.

The seven include penicillin, tetracycline and colistine sulfate.

The administration said continued antibiotic usage in livestock feed will raise the animals’ tolerance and have an adverse effect on public health.
