Ileitis gains impact in Chinese pig production

The process of intensive pig farming is now spreading widely across China, with housing of specific age groups into separate units composed of breeding, nursery or fattening pigs. Under these circumstances, infections with well-adapted porcine pathogen agents like Lawsonia intracellularis are recognized as important economic problems that need to be controlled.
