In July 2014, Rupinskai Farm located in Eastern Lithuania became the first commercial pig farm in the EU to experience an outbreak of African Swine Fever. The farm owned by Danish company, Idavang, culled almost 20,000 pigs as a result. Group CEO, Claus Baltsersen, spoke exclusively to Pig Progress about the consequences of this.
