Norman Dunn has reported on European agriculture for radio, television, magazines and newspapers as an independent journalist based in Germany for the past 27 years. A major interest is pig farming, particularly how scientific developments help pork production efficiency, animal health and pig welfare. Before freelancing, Norman was international editor for a stable of farming magazines based in Germany. He attended agricultural college in his native Scotland, where he was brought up on a farm. Afterwards, he trained as a journalist, eventually covering daily news for morning and weekly newspapers in the United Kingdom.
